Intro to Blender 3D

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Danbury Library
MakerLab

The MakerLab at the Danbury Library will present this special workshop on learning Blender, which is a 3D computer graphics software used for creating animated films, visual effects, art, 3D printing, interactive 3D applications engineering design, artificial intelligence, and much more.

You can think of 3D modeling as drawing on the computer in 3 dimensions. Through this course, the students will be introduced to 3D modeling and animation. By the end of the course, students will be capable of doing a simple model and animation of their own. The idea is to empower students to believe that they can acquire a skill mostly on their own, given the right start.

What you need:

  • Please bring in a laptop computer and a 3 button (two buttons with a mouse wheel) mouse.

  • The software needed is Blender 3D, which is completely free. Blender runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux, so as long as you have a full operating system, it should work fine. Click on the provided link to download.

IMPORTANT: Students should come with their own laptops preloaded with Blender and be computer literate and capable of sitting through an hour-long class.

This workshop is for Teens (Ages 12 - 18)

FREE. Registration Required
