Belle da Costa Greene was the Morgan Library & Museum’s first director and a world-renowned librarian. Known for her knowledge of medieval manuscripts and keen collecting eye, she was also a woman of color, passing in a deeply segregated America. Join Erica Ciallela, a public historian and archivist currently working as a Belle da Costa Greene Curatorial Fellow at the Morgan Library & Museum to discuss Belle Greene’s background and her rise to prominence in the world of rare books.
