The Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe

6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Danbury Library
Farioly Program Room

Event Details

For the past 172 years, no one has been able to solve the mystery of Edgar Allan Poe’s death--Can you? On the day he left Richmond, Virginia bound for Philadelphia, Poe was a happy man looking forward to a new life with his childhood sweetheart and soon to be wife, Sarah Shelton. Five days later, he was found lying in a gutter--delirious, unkempt, and wearing someone else’s clothes. His delirium continued, and he repeatedly called out a stranger’s name. Four days later, he was dead. Join paranormal investigator Barry Pirro as he discusses Poe’s life, his health and mental state, the puzzling details of his last days, and the many theories surrounding his mysterious death.
