Are you expecting? Are you a new parent? Do you have small children in your family? 

The Danbury Library is throwing a community baby shower! Meet organizations that serve babies and families with young children to set the little ones up for childhood success. New parents can expect prenatal and postpartum health resources, breastfeeding information, childhood success techniques and tips, meet other new parents in the community, and door prizes! 

Registration is not required for this event. All are welcome to attend and meet our partners. All family members are welcome to join! 
 
The first 50 registrants will receive an early literacy tote bag from the Friends of the Danbury Library. Bags are for babies ages 0 - 18 months. 

Register for Dads Read Storytime at 11:30 am in the Story Corner for big siblings. 
Register for Prenatal Yoga at 12:30pm in the Farioly Program Room.

Meet Our Partners:

ARC: Food pantry open Fridays 12pm - 2pm. Families registered with a child are eligible for free diapers

Birth by Faith Doula: Provides bilingual (Spanish) doula services, online childbirth education and birthing consultation services. 

CIFC: Locally based independent, non-profit whose mission is dedicated to advancing communities and fostering greater opportunities for low and moderate income individuals and families. 

CT Breastfeeding Coalition: Assure access to comprehensive, current, and culturally appropriate lactation care and service for all women, children, and families. 

Families Network of Western CT: Nonprofit organization with no fees for services provided to families. They provide new and expectant families with information, support, and referrals to community resources and services. They promote maternal and child health, home safety, and positive parenting. 

Full Circle Doulas LLC: A team who offers birth and postpartum services for the state of CT. We are located in New Milford and Danbury.

Husky Health: Health insurance for children 12 and under | No documentation needed

SNAP: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program helps eligible individuals and families afford the cost of food at supermarkets, grocery stores and farmers markets.

Nurse Family Partnership: Prenatal and postnatal care for new moms. Includes home visits by the nurses after birth through age 3. 

Community Action Agency of Western CT: Action Early Learning Center is a year-round childcare program that serves 125 children from low-income families and individuals from 18 months through 6 years. High quality education is provided to children along with workshops for parents to improve life skills. 

WIC: Healthcare and nutrition resources for low income women, infants, and children up to age 6.
