Event Details

Please Note: This is a virtual program via Zoom. Participants will receive a link to the program via email upon completing registration.

Interact with an educator from Harvard’s Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology as they livestream from the Encounters with the Americas galleries.  A guide will take you on an investigation of the Classic Period of the Maya culture and people through the clues left behind in their artifacts – their tools, buildings, and the writing on their monuments. Learn how archaeologists and other scientists unravel the mysteries of past cultures and what they mean today. We will also examine the multiple roles of both the Maya and Aztec leaders and see examples of a codex, architectural models, altars, and ancient ceramics.

FREE! Registration is required.
